ASUU strike ‘ll soon be called off, says Okojie
Abuja – Prof. Julius Okojie, Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) says he is confident that the protracted strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will soon be called off.
Okojie, who spoke on Wednesday in Abuja at a media parley with journalists, said the commission was doing everything within its powers to ensure a speedy resolution of the issues raised by ASUU so that students could return school.
“We are part of the system and we understand the issues, we are meeting with members of the union all the time and the issues are being tackled.
“So, we are optimistic the strike will soon be called off and our children can go back to school in the shortest possible time.’’
He also reacted to the call by ASUU for NUC to be scrapped, saying “the call is not in good faith as the commission has not gone to sleep over its duties”.
Also speaking on the recurrent disagreements between the commission and some professional bodies over accreditation and running of certain courses by some universities,
Okojie acknowledged that there were issues that needed to be resolved between both parties

There is no country in the world where regulatory bodies and professional bodies go to regulate at the same time.
“So, it is true we are having problems with professional bodies in carrying out our mandate, but the issues too will soon be resolved and we can move on.
The executive secretary, who said that the commission had closed many faculties not fit to run courses in certain universities, admitted that; “it is not easy to be a regulator’’.
According to him, the commission was “silently regulating the system’’ having to also pay professional fees and encourage professors to do accreditation. (NAN)

Genevieve Nnaji On The Lésbianism Act With Actress Ella
Genevieve-and-Ella2
Benin Republic actress, Ella Martins has finally spoken up on her alleged romantic relationship with Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji.
Apparently some soft-sell magazines before now had reported that, Genevieve Nnaji and her Benin Republic actress, Ella Martins friend were lésbians and partners in the act.
Ella recently reacted to this, and reviewed to that such a thing never happened between them.
Read what Ella said below
Genevieve is a very good friend of mine, we met way back in 2004 and we have been good friends since then. The story that we are lovers must have come from another female friend of hers. I am saying this because since 2004, there have been no such lésbian stories but suddenly it sprung up.
Towards the end of last year, I came to Nigeria and I stayed with Genevieve. Although we stayed under the same roof, we slept in different rooms.
There was a time during my visit that we both went to see a friend in a hotel in Lekki and people saw us going in. We later went clubbing that night with the friend and which I think is a normal thing for girls to club if they want to. But that was when the rumours got worse, that we went into the hotel to sleep with each other!!!
She said it’s not the first time the Press would label her a lésbian but she has developed a thick skin and so it doesn’t bother her because she knows she is not a lésbian!
Genevieve and I have known each other since 2004 and she really is a nice person if you get to know her. We talk on phone a lot and we discuss life’s issues like normal girls do, she is a wonderful person.

”Empress Njamah has strong body odour and is epileptic on foot”- Fans Diss Actress
In a recent interview with Nonye Ben-Nwankwo of Punch,
actress Empress Njamah talked about how she was one of the first women to start wearing popular Brazilian hair in Nigeria
, she also talked about having over 200 pairs of shoes and perfumes.
Some of her fans didn’t take her interview likely as they claim it’s all lies and dissed her over it.
Some even went ahead to say she has body odour for claiming to have over 200 bottles of perfumes.
lol…Naija fans can be weird sometimes and their comments can make one feel terrible about oneself.
Anyway, below is an excerpts from her interview :
Are you daring in fashion?
I will not say I am not daring. As an actress, I have to be versatile. But you have to be daring at the right function.
What I wear in Nigeria is different from what I wear abroad. It might be fashionable to you and an eyesore to some other people. Basically,
I dress for the event and the country. Sometimes, you need to make a statement but you have to be comfortable while making a statement.
Empress is known for her hairstyle. How come you don’t make it simple when it comes to your hair?
A lot of people always talk about my hair before my name while trying to introduce Empress. It is not a logo.
It is just that everybody has one thing they are used to and they like doing. Over the years,
I was one of the few that started wearing expensive Brazilian hair before it became a craze. I like to wear very full hair. Most times,
it takes two people to make my hair. I wear what three or four people can wear. I am a hair person. Sometimes you make your passion your profession.
I sell human hair but I started wearing it long before I started selling them. For a lady, your hair should stand out.
What else should stand out apart from the hair?
Your hair, your bag and your shoes should speak volumes. It is not necessarily your dress. If you have a good bag and a good shoe, it covers your outfit.
You also have so many footwears?
I was able to give out 85 pairs of shoes to orphanages in Abuja and Lagos.
I was left with more than 200. You would feel you have given out enough but at the end of the day,
when you go back and count, you will find out that they are still there.
Have you stopped buying?
I sell shoes. I have been a shoe lover for a long time. You make your passion your profession.
I have been into it long before I started the business, and that is why I enjoy doing what I do now.
People call me to advise them on the footwear to use for a particular occasion.
Do you love perfume?
I am a perfume person. I have bought a perfume that is worth over N300, 000. I have over 200 bottles.
It is either you are into something or you are not. It doesn’t mean that there is no cheaper perfume that smells better than that one,
but it is something you like and you want to pick it.

Hip-Hop's Wealthiest Artists 2013
1. Diddy - $580 million: The bulk of the Bad Boy Records founder’s wealth comes from non-musical ventures, namely his deal with Diageo’s Ciroc. The agreement entitles him to eight-figure annual payouts and a nine-figure windfall if the brand is ever sold—and Ciroc’s value has never been higher
2. Jay Z - $475 million: He’s still rolling in cash from megadeals like his $204 million Rocawear sale in 2007 and his $150 million pact with Live Nation the following year. He continues to hold stakes in Roc Nation, Carol’s Daughter, the Brooklyn Nets and, more significantly, the Barclays Center itself, while adding new partnerships with the likes of Duracell, Budweiser and Bacardi’s D’ussé Cognac
See the last three after the cut...
3. Dr Dre - $350 million: It's thanks mostly to his Beats by Dr. Dre headphones. A year after selling 51% of the company to handset maker HTC for $300 million in August 2011, Dre and his partners bought back half of the half they sold in 2012—and their investment continues to soar in value due to Beats’ whopping 65% market share of the premium ($99 and up) headphone market.
4. Bryan “Birdman” Williams - $150 million: Riding from his Cash Money/Young Money empire. His roster includes Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne (the latter crossed the $100 million threshold for the first time this year, by our estimates, but remains just outside the top five). Birdman also recently launched a YMCMB clothing line and a spirit called GT Vodka.
5. 50 Cent - $125 million: The bulk of his fortune came from heavy sales of his music, merchandise, video games and books in the wake of his smash debut Get Rich or Die Tryin’- and particularly from his payout for the sale of his stake in VitaminWater parent Glacéau to Coca-Cola in 2007.
